Campus Classes and Activities for Children and Youth

Year-round

Tours at the Chazen Museum of Art
Community Music Lessons

Reduced-price tickets to performing arts events for K-12 students. Check with individual performance venues for availability.
Wisconsin High School Forensic Association. Grades 6-12.

Fall and/or Spring

Saturday Enrichment Program
Four consecutive Saturdays in fall, winter and spring. Grades 1-8.
College Classes Open to High School Students
High School students with junior status may enroll in one university class per semester.
Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras
Spring and fall, Saturday morning rehearsals. Grades 5-12.
World Cinema Day
Film showing and facilitated discussion, held concurrently with the Wisconsin Film Festival. Grades 9-12.
Madison World Music Festival
Free public festival held in the fall at the Memorial Union Terrace.

Summer

College for Kids
Three-week program. Grade 5.
Technology and Arts
Three-week program. Grades 5-8.
Annual Summer Dance Institute
Two-week dance intensive and a five-day Intercontinental Dance Festival.
Summer Music Clinic
Weeklong program late June. Grades 6-12.

African Studies Outreach
Curriculum specialist, resource collection, conferences/workshops for educators, audiovisual materials.
Wisconsin-Specific Cultural Resources
"Cultural Horizons of Wisconsin," a multimedia package of video, CD-Rom, printed teacher guide. Grades 4-6.
Educator's Materials at the Chazen Museum of Art
Education, Outreach, and Resources on Upper Midwestern Cultures
Cultural tours, curriculum guides, course materials, publications and CDs.
Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection
Over 12,000 textiles and costumes.
Teacher Professional Development through Continuing Studies
Courses in music, theatre & drama, and writing.

Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
A noncirculating examination, study, and research library for Wisconsin school and public librarians, teachers, early childhood care providers, university students, and others interested in children's and young adult literature.
